Come find out why Horne Lake Caves won an award for the
"Best Natural Outdoor Site in B.C." by Attractions Canada!

With the waters of Horne Lake lapping at its shoreline, Horne Lake Caves Provincial Park offers visitors to Lighthouse Country over 120 hectares of activities ranging from caving adventures to hiking solitude.

Two of the largely undeveloped caves in the park are open to the public for self guided exploring year-round. Experience the thrill of seeing phenomenal crystal formations, a seven storey underground waterfall and ancient fossils as you sample this unique lesson in geology

But the adventure heightens when you take part in any of the popular tours offered. Tailor the thrill to your own comfort level - from the 90 minute Riverbend Family Tour to the five hour Extreme Rappel Experience.

For those of you who would prefer to stay above ground, there is the thrill of rockclimbing and rappelling, or the quieter opportunities to fish, suntan on the beach, go boating or hike the miles of hillside terrain.

Our staff of professional guides and instructors have been selected for their experience in the outdoors and ability to provide each participant with an outstanding educational experience. All instructors are required to attend comprehensive training courses that constantly improve and develop their skills.

The caves are located 60 km north of Nanaimo, 55km south of Courtenay off the Island Highway 19 or 19A. Turn at the Provincial Park signs at the Horne Lake Exit (Exit #75) and follow the signs for 12 km along the gravel road. Drive with headlights on and WATCH OUT FOR LOGGING TRUCKS!
